Over Matt of Matt
Mario Matthew Botha Ferreira (b. South Africa) is an artist working from Atelier Matt of Matt in the Netherlands. His move north was more than a change of address; it was a reorientation of memory. Far from family and the landscapes that shaped him, Mario turned longing into material (i.e. mixed‑media works that hold the tension between absence and presence. His work speaks to migration, intimacy, and the quiet ways we carry family across distance.
